Archaeology and anthropology officer
The archaeology and anthropology officer, also known as the A & A officer, was an officer responsible for studying cultures (anthropology) and their pasts (archaeology).
During the 2360s, first officer Anne Cobry was A & A officer aboard the USS Prospect. When she was promoted to the rank of captain and had an increase in duties aboard the USS Prospect-A, Cobry relinquished the role to Lieutenant Amy Bell in 2371. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles) Incidentally, Bell was the former A & A officer aboard the USS Minnesota (NCC-64332). (Star Trek: Minnesota: "Dirge")
