The USS Prospect (NCC-60056-A) was a Galaxy-class Federation Starfleet starship in service during the 24th century, operating as a Special Operations starship.

The Prospect was launched from Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in 2371, under the command of Captain John Greene. Daniel Radke served as counselor aboard the Prospect at this time.

In 2372, on a mission in the Gamma Quadrant to find the USS Rutherford and the folded space drive prototype, the Prospect was severely damaged battling the Jem'Hadar. Arriving back at Deep Space 9, the Prospect crew were reassigned to different ships and missions while the ship underwent repairs. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles: "Directive")

By 2374, Anne Tedesco was the Prospect-A's commanding officer. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Brutally Honest") Conjecture: Since the Prospect was one of the Starfleet starships stranded by the Hanej Gateway's destruction, we assume Tedesco was in command at the time.

In 2384, the Prospect-A was one of the ships stopping Romulan warbirds from pursuing Daniel Radke across the Romulan Neutral Zone. Tedesco was still the Prospect's commanding officer. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Dream a Little Dream of Me")

By 2392, Alexis Dittrich was the Prospect-A's commanding officer: a position she'd held for 6 years. (Star Trek: The Devil's Cradle)

The Prospect-A was a replacement for the USS Prospect (NCC-60056).
